Beth and Deanna at the clinic today

Day 7 of 40 Days for Life -39 Babies Saved!! And 2 from the Raleigh Abortion Clinic!

Got a praise report from Mary yesterday, that in the past few days two women from the clinic we are standing vigil at here in Raleigh, decided to keep their babies! Praise the Lord! Did you know there are 2 million couples wanting to adopt a baby every year in the United States? - and there are 1.4 million abortions in the United States! That makes for a lot of couples having to go overseas to adopt. Which in no way implies the Lord doesn't call us to adopt overseas, just that the babies being aborted in the U.S. would have the opportunity for a loving home if the mother decided not to abort. For more information on adoption please visit Deanna's blog Reviving Mothers. (the link is on my sidebar) Deanna, who is post abortive, also has adopted four children, three from Ethiopia, and one from Guatemala. She would love to share or help in any way possible. Speaking of Deanna, we went out to pray today, along with Beth from I Am Headed Towards My Destiny. There was a woman who showed up at the clinic, tried to go in, but for some reason the doors were locked. Fortunately, we were able to speak with her about getting the ultrasound she had scheduled, done for free at Birthchoice. Deanna even called (they are located right around the corner) to make sure someone was available. The woman had been dropped off by a man, so had no way to leave. She was being charged 100.00 by Planned Parenthood and we, of course, stressed again the ultrasound would be free at Birthchoice. She began to walk towards us while talking on the phone trying to contact them inside the clinic. For a brief moment we believed she was headed the right way. Then someone from inside the clinic opened the door for her to go in. It was kind of strange why the door was locked, but the Lord knows why, and we did our best. Later, as they were driving out of the clinic, I was standing on the sidewalk with the 40 Days for Life sign, and neither one of them would look at me. The woman kept looking down. It made me think of my three abortions and how my reaction would have been if I had seen someone like me standing on the street praying. To be honest, there is no telling what my reaction would have been. The only thing I knew about the anti-abortionist back then was that they were mean, judgmental, condemning and definitely not concerned about me. Of course I had never met an anti-abortionist, I just went on what society and other people said. Kind of sad huh? Didn't know for myself. But I do know this. I am a pro life person, and I love those women going into the clinic because I was once one of them. There is hurt and pain in this world that causes us to act out of desperation and fear. If perhaps, I had seen someone like me standing and praying with tears rolling down their eyes, maybe, just maybe, in the deep, lonely moments of despair, I would remember that person and think of Jesus Christ, and that He really does love me and He really does want to help me. Being out at the abortion clinic does matter, it matters more than you will ever know.....along with the prayers, and every other little small thing that is done to help stop abortion and the destruction of so many lives.....

Beautifully said Pam. We love those women because we were once one. We are doing what the Lord wants and that is to PRAY and to SPEAK his truth with compassion and care in the conviction of the Holy Spirit, GOD will do the rest in the persons heart.

I'm glad you, Beth and Deanna were able to go together. I was praying and waiting to hear.

I love you. This Friday I'm going to be ordering a T-shirt or sign from 40 days of life. Do you have one?

Hey Sister. It was such a blessing to be there today with you and Deanna. I hope you will upload your pics. I left my camera in Deanna's van. I wrote about this young lady too. She and her boyfriend read my sign as they were pulling into the drive. They both just looked at me.

Love you!

Hey Lisa, you are right hon. It is such a blessing to go out there and pray. We never know how the Lord will use us. No, I haven't got a t shirt yet, but I need one! Denise and I ordered signs and went in halves for them. We ordered 30 and they came to less than 2.00 a piece. Ask some leadership how you can get one. I have 15 for our church and people to use. I gave one to Deanna today. I am sure you can get one somewhere! I love you too....thank you for all the encouragement...
